I was playing around with a photoshop tutorial from Noel Culbertson. The essence is curves, soft light the photo, hard light the eyes. I think I took it too far on my first try... skin too light from the curves menu continuing on through the steps which followed and so perhaps it becomes a stylized example of what I was trying to accomplish or learn to accomplish. Tell me what you think.
The left is untouched and the right is perhaps over edited.

i think you did a really nice job with the picture!!! Photoshop is a niche of mine, i have been at it for about 4 years now... all i can tell you is PLAY AROUND with it A LOT!!!! it's amazing. there are so many possibilities out there for it :)
